Agero Assists Veterans Through "Hire a Hero" Events

MEDFORD, MA, April 9, 2014 – Agero, a leading provider of vehicle and driver safety, security and information services, today announced that the company is broadening its ongoing commitment to America’s veterans this year by actively highlighting and promoting its ‘Hire A Hero’ partnership at The Florida Tow Show and other major trade shows throughout 2014.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics over 800,000 veterans in the civilian population are unemployed. Hire A Hero is a nationwide resource that connects the growing number of unemployed veterans with job opportunities, education, and social services to help them re-integrate back into the civilian workforce. Agero partnered with Hire A Hero starting in 2013.

Strong Incentives to Hire Veterans
Under the partnership, Agero service providers that donate five dollars to the Armed Forces Support Foundation receive a 30-day posting of a job opening on Agero’s Hire A Hero online job site portal: HireAHero.Agero.com

“Partnering with Agero helps us in furthering our mission to provide jobs and career resources to veterans returning home from active duty. Agero’s commitment to working with their service providers to actively post job opportunities for veterans shows their dedication to the men and women who serve our country,” says Rob Barr, Executive Director of Hire A Hero.

Agero has agreed to subsidize the cost of these listings – normally hundreds of dollars- to provide a strong incentive for service providers to post a Hire A Hero ad by making them more affordable. For added exposure, the Agero Hire A Hero portal shares its job postings with a network of organizations geared towards helping veterans find jobs.

“Hiring a veteran is not just good for businesses – they also bring leadership, teamwork skills, and discipline. Furthermore, they can also earn tax benefits through the Returning Heroes Tax Credit and the Wounded Warrior Tax Credit, as enacted by Congress in 2011,” says Bryan Sander, Agero’s SVP of Operations. “We consider it a win-win for everyone involved. Plus, it’s simply the right thing to do for our vets.”
