Growth, Community, and Impact: Why My Journey at Agero is Just Getting Started

When you start your career, you often look for a place that will give you a solid foundation. But if you’re lucky, you find a place that doesn't just give you a starting line—it gives you a runway.

That has been my experience at Agero. As someone who studied Human Resource Management in college, I was initially drawn to Agero because it offered the chance to join a large, established People Team where I could learn the ropes from the experts. The fact that it was in the fast-paced tech space, yet deeply rooted in helping drivers on the road every single day, made it an easy choice. Starting my career in Talent Acquisition—the very beginning of the employee lifecycle—felt like the perfect first step.

Today, my role looks a bit different, but my passion for this company and its people has only grown.

From Coordinator to Partner: My Career Journey

One of the things I love most about Agero is that internal mobility isn't just a buzzword; it’s a reality cultivated by our leadership team. I’ve been fortunate to experience this firsthand through a career path that has allowed me to see multiple facets of our organization:

  • The Starting Line: I joined Agero as a Candidate Experience Coordinator on the Talent Acquisition team, focusing on operational efficiency and talent branding.
  • The Pivot: From there, I transitioned to the Learning and Development team, gaining a deeper understanding of how we grow and nurture our internal talent to deliver on our business strategy.
  • Where I Am Now: Today, I am a People Business Partner for our Commercial, Marketing, and Finance organizations.

When people ask me what I do, I tell them I’m a connector. Our team bridges a connection between the People Team and Agero’s business units. I work directly with leaders to ensure their talent strategy enables their team’s business goals, while bringing frontline business perspectives back to the People Team to help shape our organization-wide initiatives.

What Keeps Me Here (and Motivated)

People often ask what has kept me at Agero through the company’s changes and growth. The answer is simple: the people and the culture.

Agero genuinely invests in its employees. I have seen this firsthand through utilizing the Tuition Reimbursement benefit to pursue my MBA—a massive stepping stone for my career that Agero has actively supported. Every day, I am motivated by:

  • The Collaborative Environment: I have the unique ability to interface and partner with employees across all teams and levels.
  • A Culture of Innovation: There is a forward-thinking openness here to innovate and incorporate new technology, meaning we are never stagnant and always competitive.
  • Continuous Learning: I am constantly absorbing knowledge from the incredibly diverse experience of our People Team and business at large.

Why HR Matters

At the end of the day, I chose this career because I firmly believe that our people are our biggest strategic asset as an organization. Agero successfully combines the rich history of a family-owned business with the cutting-edge innovation of an industry leader in roadside assistance. But behind every piece of code and every rescued driver is a team of passionate individuals.

Being able to support them, grow alongside them, and help shape the future of this company is what made me join Agero—and it’s exactly what keeps me here.
