Subaru Partners to Showcase Technologies Powering Starlink at TU-Automotive Detroit 2018

Novi, MI – June 6, 2018 – Four technology providers powering Subaru’s next generation STARLINK platform today announced that they will be exhibiting within the Connected Village (Booth B92) at this week’s TU-Automotive Detroit. Visitors to the booth will be able to experience STARLINK in an Ascent, the automotive manufacturer’s brand-new midsize SUV.

TU-Automotive Detroit, taking place June 6th–7th, is one of the most prominent automotive technology events in the industry. STARLINK is Subaru’s recently upgraded in-vehicle connectivity platform that provides drivers with a range of safety, security and entertainment features, ranging from automatic collision notification and diagnostic alerts to enhanced roadside assistance and streaming media.

“STARLINK offers Subaru customers an enhanced driving experience, putting a wide selection of connected safety and entertainment features at the driver’s fingertips,” said Brian Simmermon, Vice President and CIO for Subaru of America. “With our connected platform partners, we have both the capability and the flexibility to offer our customers a variety of service packages and bill them accordingly, all while maintaining a direct relationship with Subaru customers long after they’ve acquired the vehicle.”

The exhibiting companies include:

Agero, a market leader in software-enabled driver assistance services leveraging its core foundation rooted in telematics to provide fully connected vehicle contact center services to Subaru STARLINK motorists.

Aria Systems, the leader in helping large enterprises grow subscription- and usage-based revenue, whose recurring revenue and subscription management solution has been integrated into STARLINK, enabling Subaru to more effectively manage billable subscriptions and improve customer experience.

Oracle, providing the back-end cloud-based host platform upon which the Subaru telematics platform is built, allowing Subaru to develop and test connectivity points between the multiple partners and applications providing a specific function to STARLINK.

WirelessCar, the world’s leading global Connected Car Platform and Services Company, is providing the core back-end of the connected car services including secure MNO integration and vehicle communication, service provisioning, content aggregation and integration with Subaru’s back-end platform. WirelessCar is also providing the web-based call center application used by Agero and required data for the Subaru mobile app and other customer facing applications. All WirelessCar services are hosted by Amazon Web Services.

The companies will jointly participate in a panel discussion focused on the Subaru STARLINK project entitled, “Beyond Connectivity - Transforming the Service Business Through Strategic Partnerships - Subaru as a Case Study.” The panel discussion will be held on Thursday, June 7th, from 4:00 - 4:40 p.m. ET.
