Finding the Right Truck: Swoop Intelligent Dispatch

When a customer is stranded, it is a “moment of truth” for your brand. The quality of that service is critical, and its success depends on the methodology and technology supporting auto-dispatch. At Agero, we use our Swoop platform to ensure “auto-dispatch” means more than just pinging the nearest phone; it means finding the right driver for the specific service.

Beyond Proximity: Why the “Closest Truck” Isn’t always the Best Choice

Speed is essential in roadside support, but it isn‘t the only factor. Our intelligent design utilizes configurable “dials” for cost, quality, and ETA, layered with real-time truck data and equipment requirements to ensure the best fit for every job.

Our implementation of truck-level visibility answers two vital questions: Where is the provider, and are they actually available? This surgical approach evaluates several key criteria:

  • Live Status: Is the location data current (less than 10 minutes old)?
  • Capacity: Is the driver currently on a job or managing multiple jobs in their queue?

By utilizing Swoop’s truck-level data, we define a Predictive ETA based on current driver location, real-time job status, and live traffic data. This information is then factored into the overall Swoop Score, which reflects program-specific goals such as cost-efficiency, historical quality, and brand alignment.

closing the Gap: From Guesswork to Precision Dispatch

Roadside conditions change in seconds. A driver available at 2:00 PM can be sidelined by a road closure at 2:05 PM. We provide dispatchers with clear visibility into driver locations while empowering them to assign the best driver at the exact moment of support. This minimizes the unpredictability and "guesswork" associated with locking in a driver before a job is officially awarded.

By closing this “assignment gap,” we give our partners the flexibility to manage the changing dynamics of the road while delivering a reliable, “no-surprises” experience to the customer.

OPtimizing Network Logic with Real-World “X-Factors”

Swoop is the engine that empowers our nationwide provider network. With over five providers bidding on the vast majority of our jobs, applying thoughtful logic down to the individual trucks on the road is critical.

We continue to invest in both our network and our algorithms to elevate service standards. This includes targeted recruitment, insights dashboards, and support tools like Blueprint. We are also upgrading our logic to account for “X-factors,” such as typical driver working hours, while maintaining rigorous standards for insurance (COI), background checks, and performance.

Moving Beyond Table Stakes: Evaluating Dispatch Intelligence

When evaluating a roadside partner, auto-dispatch is table-stakes. The true value lies in how that dispatching works. When choosing a partner, consider:

  • Is the matchmaking configurable to my brand’s specific service standards?
  • Does the technology identify the best provider, or just the one who tapped "Accept" first?
  • Does the platform provide the operational flexibility required to give customers accurate, real-time data?

At Agero, we aren’t just sending a truck. We are protecting your brand through intelligent, data-driven matchmaking.
